  “African-American men and PSA range: Race plays a role in the normal range for PSA score. There are also different types of test to identify the PSA range. It is important that once AA men start getting PSAs that they request that the doctors use the same test each time so that the results are consistently measured. Many oncologists report that AA men seem to have prostate cancer with a lower PSA number than do Caucasian or Asian men. African-American men talk to your doctor.”

Compared with Caucasian males, African American males are diagnosed much later and the mortality rate is 2.4 times higher.
