• OneWorld Progressive Institute, Inc. is a 501(C)3 charitable organization that researches, writes and produces informative, television programs for the benefit of the community.  The programs air on 12 cable stations in about 45 towns.  We would like to be on your cable system in your town.
  

• Become a sponsor of OneWorld TV programs.  Ask your cable station to air "21st Century Conversations" on your local access station.

• This organization began on June 9, 1996 when N'Zinga Shäni (then Beverly Grant-Thomas) presented the first TV program.  She did so for several reasons:  
  
  • Concern about the poor quality of community programs that were on the air
    
  • CTV  was not offering anything she could watch, enjoy or learn from, and
    
  •  There were a great deal happening in the community that were not being discussed.  
    
  • As an educator, she believed that the community would benefit from informative programs on a range of issues.  Thus was born "Looking into the 21st Century."
    

• In 1999 the program's title changed to  "21st Century Conversations"
  

• In 2004 OneWorld incorporated as a 501(C)3 community organization with IRS approval.
  

• Ms. Shäni is not paid for her work with OneWorld or for the TV programs.  Her effort is a complete donation to the community.  
  

• OneWorld pays for every tape that is distributed to the 12 cable systems that presently broadcast the programs, and for every tape provided to guests, or to others who request them; we also pay for all other costs associated with the organization's activities.  Please support our efforts by ordering copies of our programs and by making a tax-deductible contribution to OneWorld, Inc.
  

• All expenses incurred on behalf of OneWorld, Inc must be paid by Ms. Shäni, or by funds raised on behalf of OneWorld, Inc.  We depend on grants and on contributions from the Board of Directors and on the goodwill of supporters.
  

• We need the help of the community to continue providing first class education programs.  Help us to better serve & make a positive difference in our community.
  

• Become a member of OneWorld Progressive Institute, Inc.
  

• Volunteer as a Mentor to a poor or a minority child; you do not have to be a minority to be a mentor; however we strongly encourage minorities to become mentors.  Our children need positive role models.
  

• Join the Community Action, or the Medical Advisory Council.
  

• Serve as an expert guest on one of our TV programs
  

• Volunteer as a resource person to provide information on a range of topics
  

• While we are trying very hard in 2008 to bring you the best programs possible, there is still significant room for positive growth; you can help to make that happen.  Please serve as a resource for us; help us to produce excellent programs.

• Do you offer a health, education or financial service to the poor?

• We need financial experts to help with workshops on Financial Literacy.
  

• Educators for workshops on Closing the Achievement Gap in Education for teachers, students and parents;
  

• Psychologists and counselors to help parents and grandparents with basic resource-type of information.
  

• We welcome contributions of video equipment, good cameras, DVDs, S-VHS& VHS tapes, new or good used computers, color printers, microphones, tripods, storage cabinets and financial contributions.
